Field Trip Stations
With Tim we learned how pilots will inspect each and every part of the plane before taking off and how important it is to check for damage to the plane. Tim showed us how dents or cracks in a plane can be devastating to the label if it is flown and not fixed. He also showed us how to load fuel into the plane on top of the wings, how to take water out of the plane, and the fuel itself.
Mike took us inside the actual plane and showed us what most of the instruments and controls in the cockpit did to the plane. We learned how to control the components of the wings and stabilizers of the plane by using the yoke. Mike also showed us the different types of planes that they use to teach new pilots.
Steve showed us how planes fly at different elevations above airports to avoid the incoming and outgoing traffic, We were also shown what planes fly at each elevation and why the planes fly at those specific heights. Steve showed us the airports in the region and how each airport has a different classification so that the pilots will know what elevation to fly at while flying over the airport.
TJ was pilot trainer and took us into the classroom to tell us how people are able to get their pilot's licensees and what careers they can get. TJ walked us through the initial training of being a pilot and what requirements are needed for the different licensees. Next TJ asked us about our interest in becoming pilots and any questions we had about becoming a pilot or the training associated with it.
Socrates was on of the maintenance men who ran routine checks on the planes ensuring that the engines and components are safe for flight. Soc showed all of us how the engine on the Cessna functioned compared to a car's engine and the differences between new and old plane engines. Soc also demonstrated what components inside the engine did and how the plane itself was very light and fragile for its size.

Conclusion
1. During the trip I was able to learn more of the instrument panels and controls that are inside of an airplane like the radios that allow pilots to talk to people on the ground and the functions of the yoke to control the plane's components.
2. While at the airport we were shown the classes of elevation that planes and airports use everyday, and we learned this already in class when we took notes on Air Traffic Control.
3. I missed the chance to ask how lifting the landing gear back up into the plane changes the flight stability and efficiency compared to the planes that had fixed landing gear attached to the fuselage.
4. To make the field trip better we should have more time to be at the airport to see a demonstration of a plane turning on, taking off, and landing back at the airport.
