Procedure
Estimated Build Time - 7 days
Process
- Obtain parts and tools required for prototype
- Make measurements required on wooden panels and plastic sheets using a meter stick.
- Mark PVC Pipe according to leg height.
- Cut out pieces of wood according to measurements using a saw (jigsaw, bandsaw, etc.)
- Sand down the rough edges of the wood paneling using sand paper.
- Nail together the outside frame using the nails and the hammer.
- Glue the inside wood supports in place using wood.
- Cut the PVC Pipe at the designated markings using a hacksaw/PVC Cutter.
- Attack rubber grips on bottom of PVC Pipes.
- Attach velcro strips on tops of PVC Pipes
- Attach velcro to the points indicated in the design on legs/body.
- Attach velcro to the backside cover so it can be attached to the body
- Cut out plastic sheets with a box cutter
- Attach plastic sheets to wooden frame using glue as designated on the design.
Refinements
- We made the width larger to change the chair from pocket size to more backpack size so there would be more space to sit.
- We adjusted the cover to the body from being cloth to wood.
- We adjusted it so the cover can be attached using velcro instead of another method
Adjustment made to body so the legs fit into the 3 slots inside. Instead of an open space the inside walls add support when someone is sitting on the body.
